Little Movers: 4-Week Dance Discovery
This short program is a wonderful introduction to dance for children ages 4–8. Each week dancers will explore a different style of movement in a fun and supportive studio environment.
Over the four weeks dancers will try:
Ballet
Jazz
Hip Hop
Creative Dance
Classes focus on developing coordination, musicality, creativity, and confidence, while keeping the experience joyful and engaging for young dancers.
Program Details
Ages: 4–6 and 7-8
Length: 4 weeks
Class Duration: 45 minutes
No previous dance experience is required.
Find The Right Class
Ages 3-4
This special class is designed for young children to explore movement, music, and imagination in a nurturing and playful environment. Through storytelling, gentle structure, and creative play, students begin developing coordination, confidence, and a love of movement.
Ages 5-6
This magical class combines imagination with the foundations of classical ballet in an encouraging environment. Students start to learn structure, continue to develop coordination, and start to learn the fundamentals required to help them grow and learn safely.
Ages 7-9
Here we start to focus on strengthening and lengthening while continuing to build the foundations of ballet. Students are encouraged to develop artistry and presentation. Class sizes are purposefully kept small for individual attention and corrections
Ages 10-12
Level 2 continues to deepen artistry and technique with a focus on proper alignment and injury prevention. Classes are kept small for individual attention and specific corrections.
Pre Professional Training
This special class is designed for young children to explore movement, music, and imagination in a nurturing and playful environment. Through storytelling, gentle structure, and creative play, students begin learning the fundamentals of ballet while developing coordination, confidence, and a love of movement.
Ages 13+
This special class is designed for young children to explore movement, music, and imagination in a nurturing and playful environment. Adult Classes

At The School of Port City Ballet we are dedicated to the individual dancer, supporting their strengths and goals towards becoming the artists they wish to be in our beautiful studios. Our programs are taught by a faculty of certified teachers and guest artists who have studied the best available and updated programs for dancers health and growth. This creates a one of a kind environment where our studio feels like a second home to all of our students. Students are supported by registered professionals in the fields of Sports Psychology, Social Work, Physiotherapists, Pilates Trainers, and Nutritionists helping to grow a well-rounded, educated, and informed dancer of today.

No experience needed — just curiosity and a love of movement. Whether you’re starting fresh or returning after years away, this course is designed to help you feel strong, supported, and beautifully grounded from the very first plié. Weekly classes taught by PCB Artistic Director, Nova Johnstone.
